  • Difference between LCL and Consolidation?
Ans: In a few cases, customers will not have things to fill a full container and they have only small parcels. These unfilled parcels in the container which is yet to pack are called LCL (Less than Container Load). The shipping line collects these small parcels and makes up a Full Container Load. The LCL cargo is delivered by the client to a warehouse for packing into a container. The act of collecting the LCL cargo from the various shippers and packing it into a container is known as Consolidation. The entity that handles such operations is known as Consolidators (Groupage Operators)

  • How do I verify if my goods were actually shipped?
Ans- EGT cargo service takes care of customs documentation, authorization, working with Terminal Operator, advanced tracking system, Immigration, and other Governmental Departments of Cargo service Dubai. You will be provided with the tracking ID once your parcel got shipped so that you can track your parcel using the tracking Id until it reaches your destination.

  • Why is there a difference in transit time between FCL and LCL cargo to the same destination?
Ans: Before I answer let me tell you about FCL and LCL, Which means FCL is Full Container Load and LCL means Less than Container Load. In FCL, the container is carrying cargo for one shipper and one consignee. Once it is packed at the Port it is not unpacked from the container anywhere and delivered as is to the Port of Discharge. But in LCL, the container will not be filled as it is less than container load, the container may get reworked to cargoes distributed to the various ports by consolidating a container till it turns into FCL. So, the transit time is getting vary for the same destination in LCL and FCL.

  • What is the difference between Logistics and Cargo?

Broker is who Arranges transportation whether road, rail, or sea with a carrier, either on behalf of the shipper, consignee, or freight forwarder and they connect with cargo owners to shipping lines and vice versa and work on a commission basis.

  • In what basis the charge of the goods is calculated in air cargo?
Ans- Charges are calculated on actual weight or volume whichever is higher. Rates are exclusive of customs duty/tax.

  • What are the prohibited items for Balikbayan box to Philippines from Dubai?
Ans- There are few prohibited items which should not carry through air cargo. They are Tyres, Rims, Petrol, Gasoline, Machine operated, air gun, alcohol, painting materials, battery or any material with alkaline content, and liquid that cause flame.
